World MS Day

It is also 2 years, 7 months and a day from when I was diagnosed with MS. But whose counting. I'm not. I guessed it was about 2 1/2 years. I was close! Anyways, I didn't know of anything special going on around town. I just wore my Walk MS shirt and posted some info on Facebook. MS wise I am doing well. I am having my regular issues with fatigue and some cognitive things. The kids finish my sentences a lot. I try not to be annoyed. I know that they are just trying to help. Bless their hearts. :) I love them to pieces! They, and my hubby, are actually a really great help to me. If you would like some more information about MS here is the website for the National MS society nationalMSsociety.org. Thank you for all the prayers and love you have for my family.

*This was going to be posted last night, but the sirens went off and we were in the basement until late. After we came upstairs, I went straight to bed. Thankfully we were safe.

Sewing Day

Yesterday was sewing day. A friend of mine put a picture of a dress she made for her little girl on facebook. It was so cute! She sent me a link to a blog explaining kind of how she did hers. I haven't made many things, so I sent the link to my mother-in-law and asked her if she would help me make one. She said that she would help me. She is very crafty and has made lots of things. I went to the store and bought the cheapest fabric I could find. I wanted to make sure that I could make one and that my little bit would wear it! This is my finished dress.

It looked too small when we were making it, but I wanted to go ahead and follow this lady's directions. We figured we could adjust the numbers next time. I really love how cute it is. And with my mother-in-law's help it was really easy. I'm not sure if I can do the next one by myself. Maybe if I have her on the phone to walk me through it. :) After we were finished with it, I reread the link. It said it was a pattern for up to a 3T dress. LOL My little bit is 6! Oh well. I gave it to my niece. She may have to wear some leggings, but it is cute on her.

My mother-in-law decided to take her fabric and adjust the measurements to make a dress that would fit my daughter. Here is the dress that my mother-in-law made.

Of coarse my little bit LOVED it. She put it on as soon as she saw it. Kept it the rest of the night. She also wore it to school today. In case you haven't noticed, or just don't know her, she loves to wear dresses. That was my fun day yesterday. I will let you know if I make anymore.

Something New

When I was in school, I was a choir girl. I loved to sing. Actually, I still love to sing. Our church doesn't have a choir right now and I miss it. Anyways,I was never a part of the band. My hubby was a part of the band. He was in marching band along with his brother and sister. And now my oldest daughter has made the color guard team. Just in case you don't know, they are the people with the band that spin the flags. I am very excited for her. She had a three hour practice today and loved it. I don't know anything about the color guard or marching band. But here we go!

Pivotal Circumstances

At church we just finished a series called “Five Things that God Uses to Grow Your Faith” by Andy Stanley. The last topic that we talked about was pivotal circumstances. These are life’s surprises, good or bad, that God can use to strengthen your faith in Him. During class I kept thinking of different circumstances in my life that I felt were used by God to help me.

When I became a mom for the first time, I wanted to be the best mom I could be. I felt like my attention shifted from me to her. It was because of God sending me her I went to Bible college. That is where we met my now husband. That was a circumstance that I didn’t plan but God used it.

I thought of times when people dear to me passed away. I remember having many emotions and feelings, even anger. I still do not understand the why in these circumstances. However, God has used these circumstances to show me His love, comfort and peace.

Also, when I first knew something was wrong with me before my MS diagnosis. I was scared and nervous about what it could be. I was actually relieved to find out it was MS. There was comfort in knowing what was going on with me. I am still, at times, scared and nervous about the future. But I feel that God has a plan to use this in some way.

Those are just some of the things that came to my mind during class. I can see God working through so many things in my life. Can you think of any pivotal circumstances in your life?

A Mother's Day Poem

My precious 10-year-old boy brought home a fill in the blank project for me. I just wanted to share.

My Marvelous Mom

If my mom were a flower, she would be a rose because she can be nice.

If my mom were a super hero, she would be Supermom because she is a super mom!!

If my mom were candy, she would be Sweet Tarts because she is sweet.

If my mom were a car, she would be a minivan because that is what she drives.

If my mom were a color, she would be red because she likes U of L.

If my mom were a TV show, she would be NCIS because she watches it all the time.

Hello, Mr. Sun

It has been raining here more days than not lately. I am not going to complain about it though. We are doing so much better than some of the others you see on the news around the country. It is so sad to watch. However, I have missed seeing the sun. A long time ago we made reservations to go camping this weekend. We have been watching the weather closely. It said it should be dry on Friday, dry on Saturday and 10% chance of rain on Sunday. So, we went camping! Yay!

3D chalk I found on clearance. The kids played with it until it was almost all gone.

My oldest brought a friend from church and we also had my nephew and niece, too. My in-laws were there with their camper. My sister-in-law also came down on Saturday with her two boys. I brought my tent. And we borrowed a small tent for the older girls. The four younger kids slept in the camper with Mamaw and Papaw on Friday night.

Here is Little Bit jumping out of the swing.

Saturday before lunch we found out that the weather had changed. It was now a 60% chance of thunderstorm on Saturday. We debated some but decided to go ahead and leave Saturday night instead of Sunday morning. It is hard to pack up in the rain. We also didn't want to sleep in the tents in a thunderstorm. We stayed until around 8:00 and then came on home.

I loved being outside after I'm not sure how many days of rain and severe weather. I thought I was staying in the shade most of the time, but I did come home with a sunburn. I did not get a pic of that though. :)
